Will Win XP support my Bluetooth Headset?

Hi everyone, I have this bluetooth headset on the way from newegg, and I'm wanting to know if my Windows XP SP3 installed operating system will automatically support it or am I going to need additional hardware and or software.

You would need some type of bluetooth ability on your computer.

You'd need hardware AND software. As long as the hardware has XP compatible drivers you should be good.
 
exactly what MrHood22 said, you will need a BT receiver. You can pick one up for as cheap as $15. just make sure it says XP on the pack and you're good to go!
 
EDIT - just read the Newegg link. The headset comes with a receiver, so you should be good to go OP.
 
Ok, now it appears I have a problem. I got the headset, downloaded the latest drivers from Logitech (headset link to newegg in OP), paired it successfully, but the only sound I'm getting are just the actual Windows XP computer sounds. No music...

So I went into my audio sound settings and switched my audio device selection from my Sound Blaster card to the Logitech H800 Headset, which was listed, and I still get no sound.

On the headset unit there is a switch that has 3 settings: Off, Receiver, and Bluetooth. The instructions from Logitech say to set this switch to Receiver. I did, but still no music sound. I'm using Windows Media Player latest version and interestingly the controls on the headset like last track, previous track, mute and pause are all working, but still no music. :eek:

Any ideas why this is happening. I seem to have it set up perfectly but I just can't get the audio going. One last detail, I tried plugging it in to the USB charger cord that came with it ---> still no audio. :confused:
 
Bump, I sure I hope I can get some advice on this problem. I'm so close to making it all connect.
