will using X800GTO instead of 9700 pro 128mb give me better performance in BF2142???

it is for my p3-s 1.4ghz system
with 896mb memory ( memory is fine when the game loaded.. it never goes over 750 in the task manager ' performance tab'

it is with a 9700pro 128mb now..
when i run the game at 800*600 at low setting is playable in single player.
but in mid setting... chopyy really choppy!!!

so as in multplayer mode.. when more shooting and people running around..
so if i get a x800GTO for this p3
will it run this game better???? ( don't ask me to upgrade the cpu on this system lol)

Why would you try to run such a new game on ancient hardware when you have a speedy new computer at your disposal?

lol i just bought a X800 GTO lol... is there a way to unlock the GTO to full 16 pipe?

by the way i changed my mainboard to P3V4X already that support agp 4x

You'll move up to the next generation of GPU, so yeah you should see an improvement. A friend of mine had BF2 running on his x300 card, so it is possible but you already know it won't be the greatest gaming experience out there.

lol i want to see how the modern GPU got bottlenecked by a p3

lol P3 1.4ghz 2001
x800GTO 2004-5

my next goal will be a X1900 or 7900 when they drop the price to like 120 canadian dollars

the X800GTO i just bought is 124 canadian dollars brand new in a local store...
good price?
