e6400
intel D975XBX
4 sticks of 667 corsair

overclocked
e6400 @ 8 multi*375mhz=3000mhz
memory 375(12% increase)mhz
for the memory im not sure about it, im a total noob to overclocking(ive read a lot, just well... yeh im a noob)

im putting a scythe ninja on this beast so cooling probably wont be a problem.

I'm not totally up on memory overclocking with DDR2, although I have heard it tends to OC well if you get good stuff. However, I do think you might have some trouble OCing with 4 sticks. I always stick to just 2 when I'm OCing. If you decide to go with 2 or 4, just be sure to do ample testing on the memory and pick up the speeds slowly to find where it maxes stable.

most overclocking ar elimited by 4 sticks. they are "unstable". to run memory on a higher freq other than spec. up the voltage and loosen the timings.

What is spec. ?

I thought you wanted tight timings?

Is there an article on the 4 stick thing?

so should i use....
the 4 sticks of 512 @ 667
2 sticks of 512 @ 800
2 sticks of 1gb @ 667
or what?

I'd say go with two sticks. Find some good quality stuff that fits your desired speed/size. But if you want to OC the ram, you can prolly get away with 2 x 1gig @667.

For a max oc 2 sticks of 512 are usually best....for better overall performance without throttling the oc too much 2x 1GB sticks would work.

2 x 1Gb FTW! Get the highest rated you can. 667 should be ample for most, 800 is great, 1066 is best

667 is good. 667 is rated to run at 333mhz. that means if ur max FSb can only go 300mhz, then ur memory can run on the same frequency at 1:1. so all u'll have to do is tighten the timings.

BTW, whats the cpu multi on those conroes?
