I currenty have two sticks of 256MB Corsair pc3200 RAM. I want to add another 512MB stick. Will this cause any adverse effects?

Thanks.

It's not really advisable (you should rather get two matching 512MB sticks instead) but it shouldn't make any glaring problems...

Well I plan on getting the exact same type of RAM, just larger. Buying anothing gig is out of the question though. I'm wondering if I would have to run them at lower timings, more voltage...that kind of stuff. Thanks for the reply.

I don't think it should have any problems if they are all the same speed.

Why got get two more 256 sticks? If you're running i865/i875, unmatched memory will probably make you run single channel. Don't know about AMD.

Only 3 slots. Dual channel for amd is just a marketing gimick anyhow.

Did you have to change any of the timings or FSB or anything like that?

Just get a 512MB stick of the exact same stuff you have right now and you wont have any problems.
