Will this upgrade help my doom 3 performance a lot?

AMD Athlon 2500+ Barton

I'm hoping it will help my performance a bit.

why do you even bother asking, OF COURSE A 6800 will run doom3 MUCH better than a 8500.... anyway

well i mean, is the procssor upgrade necesary or not for the most part. The 8500 was a mistake for me to buy in the first place.

Those specs would be kick ass for Doom 3.

Feel free to upgrade it. Don't be scared that Doom 3 will look like crap becuase it wont. I'm running a 9000 on 1280x1024 on Medium settings with no lag and it looks fantastic. Don't ask me how I do it. My card must be a 9600 in disguise.
