Will this setup work? triple screening(not eyefinity)

I have a 6950 right now and dual 27" monitors. Right nearby I have a new projector HT setup. I realized I couldn't do eyefinity due to neither the screens nor the projector having a displayport naitvely. But if I add a second GPU, say a 5450 with hdmi output, can I have the dual 27" stretch desktop and have the projector just clone the 2nd 27" monitor?


So basically If I have Desktop Part 1 on screen A, and Desktop Part 2 on both Screen B and projector.
 
Don't need to have a display port connection, just get an adapter. Active DP adapters can be found for under $30, and this will let you run that third screen right off the 6950. I have a 6970 with 3x 24" screens, none of which have DP connections. Works in eyefinity or just extended desktop mode....I love it.
 
I can't find any active for less than $100, and I've heard they can cause flickering problems, the extra GPU will only cost $10
