Will this psu run a 8800gt?

Yeah it will work, but there are better options out there. Get a Corsair, Enermax, or Antec for about that price.

the corsair in that price range is the 450 watt one, and i dont think thatll work. any suggestions from newegg for 110 bucks or under?

im kinda scared cause im using a 500watt pos and it wont boot it up. you sure the 450watt one is better than the one i posted?

just to be safe, i got the 520 watt one for 125 bucks. heres hoping it will power my 8800gt

I'd rather toss my hardware into a wood chipper than use a Raidmax PSU... *shudder*....

Too bad you bought from Newegg. There's a thread in the [H]otDeals section that has the same unit for $78 AR, $68 w/ Google Checkout -- from buy.com I think.

Still - you made a wise decision. Good luck. It will MORE than handle an 8800GT fine. In fact it should be able to do 2x GTs in SLI, along w/ a quad, few hard drives and so on.

[edit Yep it was buy.com for $78+change, -$10 for GC too...And free shipping. Out the door price still beats Newegg by a pretty big margin ($98+ change).

good thing i orderd it after mailing times on a friday, i canceled the order and orderd it from buy.com

I found out the hard way that how many watts is not the most important thing
But how manny rail's it got is even more important

A 450W single rail PSU will out preform most 650W dual and for shoure most triple rail and not even talking about quad PSU's

If you got a triple rail 650W PSU that means that rail1 250W go's to mobo rail2 200w to graphics and rail3 200W to CD/DVD/HDs if one over loads the hole PSU trips

Ware in a singel rail all the power of the PSU go's ware its needed

Of course if all the things you hook up to your PSU are perfect balanced for what eags rail gives you will not have any problems its just you could also be unlucky:rolleyes:

I would go for this one the SILVERSTONE OP650
Its a singel rail PSU, it cost you 50 buks more after rebat, but you have a PSU thats 5x better you can hook up 8800GTX whit a Q6800 @ 3.9GHz (friend got this PSU runing sli GTX's)

Here for $ 96,95

The 450watt Corsair is a MUCH better PSU than the Raidmax. It's no comparison really.
