Will this NB Heatsink work?

whats your current temps? because that heatsink on that boards pretty damn big compared to the tiny one on my 780g.. even doing 720p playback it shouldnt be creating that much heat.. a better case fan is more of an option then bothering to change the heatsink.. but thats just my opinion..
 
That's what I'm trying to avoid though (adding another fan). The stock NB heatsink on my motherboard is big, but not sure it's that great. It does get pretty hot. The Enzotech one I'd like to get is pure copper while the stock one (I have a suspicion) is aluminum.
 
whats the temps showing for the northbridge on speedfan or everest? id guess some where in the 50-60C range which isnt to bad.. but id say that copper heatsinks useless without a fan.. unless the case already has decent enough cooling.. if it doesnt there just isnt enough surface area on that copper heatsink to dissipate the heat.. where as that larger aluminum one is..
 
Well, as soon as I got the board I removed the stock aluminum chunk they put on the chipset and replaced it with the Enzotech.

When watching HD videos on Youtube, the onboard GPU / chipset's temp. rose up to 102C. Idling, the onboard GPU / chipset are usually around 90C. Now, I did read that the GeForce 9300 / 9400 chipsets get hot, but the temps. I'm seeing are scary.

I replaced the chipset heatsink thinking it would be better than that stock chunk of aluminum they put on the chipset.

I'm using a SilverStone SG03 case and do have the two 120mm fans in the front sucking cool air into the case. My PSU has a 135mm fan and there's also a 120mm blowhole up at the top of the case, both exhausting heat from the case.

I'm thinking about switching to a LianLi PC-V351 case or an Antec Mini P180 to try and get a better cooling setup for this board.

OR would a Thermalright HR-05 work better passively than the Enzotech chipset heatsink or stock aluminum chunk?

Anyone have any thoughts on any of this?
