Will this GPU Bottleneck with my CPU?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to something that will run casual-fps games like TF2, Garry's Mod, and Minecraft with a decent FPS on Medium-High settings at 1680x1050. I'm currently running a GeForce 210, that can barely handle TF2 on low settings running at 1280x800 resolution. I was looking at a Radeon HD 7770 (this one) but I'm afraid it will bottleneck my CPU. My PC is fairly old so not everything is to par with modern specs. I'm not looking to play really hardware demanding games, either. So if anyone knows if this will bottleneck or could recommend another card, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Do you plan to game at 1080p? Is that your goal?

Do you plan on playing other games? It sounded like you were trying to play more intensive titles, which none of those games listed are. Are you planning on upgrading the whole system?

I wouldn't buy a new GPU without replacing the CPU. That thing may have held its own 5-6 years ago, but it doesn't now. If replacing the video card was your main concern, whether the CPU bottlenecks it or not doesn't matter. Eventually it will and it's hard to say with those games at that resolution since that GPU you have is incredibly weak. Can you overclock it? You'll probably see more gains with a new video card if you could since those games take more advantage of the CPU than GPU given they don't stress GPU's much. Upgrading to a HD 7770 is not going to hurt you worse if that's what you're asking.

My GTX 260 got well over 100FPS steady with everything maxed @ 1080p on TF2. Anything below the X60 models of Nvidia GPU's are not really meant for gaming. The X50's are arguable, but that GPU is in no way, shape, or form meant for any kind of serious gaming.

I would like to play my games at max resolution, which is 1680x1050 for me, and I would like to play them on at least medium settings. I don't really plan on playing really intensive games. I don't have that wide of a selection either since I'm running on Linux. Although it's probably a good idea to upgrade to a quad core. My RAM will stay at 4GB for a while, though. I recently upgraded from 2GB to 4GB and all of my dimms are being used. I will probably upgrade to an Intel Core 2 Quad and get the 7770 incase I decide to play more intensive games in the future. Thanks for the advice

for the games you listed that cpu is probably ok but really its time for an upgrade. that cpu will not even meet minimum requirements for most modern games and even if it does, most games will play like crap. the resolution is pretty irrelevant because your cpu will be a playable limitation anyway. in other words 20-30 fps at 1080 is just as crappy feeling as 20-30 fps at 720.

I used to run TF2 on an EVGA 8800 GT, but my cpu was a Core 2 Quad 9300.

I am guessing you mean upgrade to an I-5 or -I-7 Intel Processor. They no longer sell Core 2 Quad, unless you are able to get a hold of one.
