I have a 5850 and would like to try going triple monitor but those DP adapters are very rare. Finally found someone online that's selling it locally ($42.00), however, it doesn't look like the DP adapters i've seen before.

Aren't these things supposed to have a power adapter or something? I've asked before regarding those apple DP adapters but was told it doesn't have the power needed to actually work (Need a powered DP). This one looks like another apple adapter, but it's from the same one that made my video card so it might work. So i just need confirmation anyone's actually tried it.

Note: Regarding the price, if i were to buy a $10.00 memory card, i'll need another $12.00 in taxes to get it past customs. So no shipping comments please. (Item + Shipping Fee + Customs = Rape). The guy probably had these hidden in someones suitcase just to get it that cheap.

these work up to 1920 * 3 :) It's is an active DP, just a single link one not a dual link one. If you closely at the image it says: Active Displayport to Single Link DVI adapter, so unless u have 30 inch panels u all good to go. I have an HP active DP to VGA that works sweet with my 3 & 24 inch 1920*1200 Sammy's.

you can get it from newegg for $27 shipped

I'm not in the US. Anything shipped from the outside will be held at the port and taxed 100% to be picked up and $20.00 storage fee. So if it took 5 days to process, you'll have to pay $100.00 in storage fees. Even if it got processed and dropped directly in your hands in one day, that's still $20.00.

The early iPhone4 buyers were pretty hardcore. They paid $1,800.00 per unit (Later buyers had them smuggled in to escape the customs tax).

So no, shipping is not an option.

Thanks. I haven't looked into DP's in a while and was kinda surprised they make Active DP's without external power adaptors now. Last time i checked. Active DP's were $190.00.

doh, ok go for local offer haha

I do wonder if this is normal. Because even educational books get taxed. They're stuck in the holding facilities instead of schools coz their customs tax is more than the books value.
