Will this CPU upgrade help?

I have a Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H with 16 GB ram with an i5-4670. I use it to livestream to YouTube and I have noticed that the CPU load is about 50% plus or minus. Will upgrading the CPU help or will I notice any difference? I am looking at an i7-4790.
BTW, both the i5 and i7 are quad core and I am using an nvidia GTX 1060 video card.
 
Yes, yes it will.

Apparently streaming in particular takes advantage of the extra threads.
 
I'm still on a I7-3770 Ivy Bridge. Games play the same ...at least the one I have. I haven't upgraded. I dont' stream either. Cutting off a few minutes with encoding files isn't that big of deal to wait a bit extra time.

I think I might go AMD this route since their chips were not boinked by the Government on purpose.
 
Make sure it's a K model and get yourself a new heatsink. A simple AIO 120mm water cooler should be more then enough to allow you to OC.

Multiplayer games benefit the most of having 6 or more cpu cores.

With single player games you wont notice much improvement.

Two different worlds with two different results.

You’re reading it wrong. 50% utilization across all 4 cores means its only using 2 cores. Windows scheduler divides up the task between cores really fast so the graphical representation in task manager shows 50% across all 4 cores. Ask your self, why would it only use 50% of a core if it can benefit from more processing power? Answer is it wouldn’t. Whatever service that’s being used is only using 2 cores if you’re seeing a maximum of 50% utilization on a 4c/4t CPU.

The question should be, why is it only using 2 cores? Is it a setting or a limitation in the software being used?
