will this be enough for a q6600

so i'm finally upgrading from a socket a 2500+m (@2.6) and have some watercooling parts that i want to transfer over to a new q6600 (or x32?0) on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L. i've been away from the scene so long that i forgot everything i learned about watercooling.

would a Hydor L20, a BIP120 rad, and a Sunon KD1212PTB1-6A be enough to to warrant a new 775 waterblock? or would i just be better off spending the $50 on a super nice HSF?

i want around 3.5ghz running 24/7.

if anyone wants to recommend/discourage me from either a q6600 vs x3210 vs x3220 so i dont have to create another thread about it that would be nice.

You're going to need at least a 2x120 radiator to handle a quad at 3.5Ghz. The pump should probably be enough if it's a CPU-only loop, though.

The Xeons /should/ work fine, but many boards don't officially support them as they use different microcode from the desktop processors. Again, it may work fine, but it may cause strange issues with stability. I'm planning to run an X3220, so I'll tell you how that goes...

ugh... $50ish for a waterblock, $35 for a bip II, and like $8 for another fan...

a nice hsf is starting to look like a better choice now...

since my landlord pays the electric bill, i might just donate the wc'd 2500+m to f@h

Tough to say, every chip runs at different temperatures.

With a 90+CFM fan and an Ultra-120 very good lol...here's some results of it on an x6800

Maybe high 50's?
