just as the title states, they started with the 975x and then followed the 920 and such, will there be non extreme versions of the hex core as well?

yea, 3rd quarter of this year Core I7 970 (around 560 USD)? :confused:

Not to nitpick but they had non EE nehalems since day 1.
EE 965, 940 and 920 were released simultaneously.

The 975 (and 950) followed about 6 months later, and the 930 came another 6months later (why so late intel?)

Rumors are a $562 part 6core 970 will come sometime Q3 but no talks of a $284 '920 equivilant' part.

I really want to jump on a 32nm >4core but Intel doesn't want poor people to have them just yet :(
