I currently have a 4670k at stock speeds, will OC once my WC parts come in. I plan to purchase another 290 and a 1050W PSU. Will there be a bottleneck between the CPU and 2 290 cards?

Only if you dont clock it.
There may be times when even the fastest CPU isnt enough, you've got about the fastest experience.

Higher fps I'd say.
120Hz screens are quite common now.

edit:
just checked and cant find a 1920x1200 120Hz screen so you have a point.
Perhaps he is after higher min fps.

Its a temp setup guys, for now. Can anyone else chime in on the original question?

Your 4670k should not be a bottleneck. Don't think an overclock is needed either, but that's not why we're [H] so overclock away!

getting two 290s for 1920x1200 is plain silly. and yes there are some poorly optimized games where your cpu will not give you all of even a single 290.

Considering its one of the fastest CPU's out there IPC wise, if there was a bottleneck you wouldn't know since there really isn't anything to compare to. OC to alleviate any bottleneck there might be. Get it up to 4.2-4.3ghz and you will be as fast as some of the fastest Sandy's and Ivy's.

The only thinga faster would be a 4770k or Ivy-E, and that's only if the game can use more than 4 cores or HT effectively.
