Clearly the cell processor is the lets get a huge hard on and say that this will take over the world, microsoft, intel, amd etc. etc.
but 3 questions:
(1) Will it? (or will it stay in consoles...)
I mean there is clearly some performance potential, but it will require different mobo, different ram (this rambus xda stuff, which runs at 3ghz..., which should be dam expensive...?)
Also, as it is a very different proc from amd/intel/via cpus, won't games manufacturers, and others have to relearn all of their stuff to write code that will take advantage of it?
(2) Will Intel/Amd allow it to overtake world???
They must have something up their sleeve right?
(3) What is this Intel/microsoft partnership that all of the hypists are talking about, intel will be affected maybe, but why microsoft????
thanks for everyone's help
