Will smoking effect my DLP?

I will make this short and sweet. My roommate and I just bought a new Samsung 42 inch DLP TV. We have it set up in the living room, in our apartment. My question is, because he smokes inside, will the smoke eventually start to damage the DLP set? Will the dest collect on the lamp/color wheel/ or DLP chip and start to destroy the image?

Just curious as to if smoking will harm the TV. Thanks.
