will RAM automatically underclock?

Hi,

So I have some kingston ram that is DDR-400 and I want to put it in a machine which is DDR-333. Will the ram automatically underclock and run fine?

Any help is appreciated.

In most cases yes, however, I would check the compatability list from the motherboard manufacturer just in case.
