Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
i have a 300 GB HD, i don't want to format 300 GB every few months since i try to format about that often, so i was wanting to partition it, but i was wondering if it will slow down performance?
it wont slow down to what you (or anyone else for that matter) would even notice. sure benchmarks MAY in fact be faster, but you will not notice the difference. set your system partition to 10-20gb and the rest for your precious data.
I keep my windows partition as small as necessary on my primary drive, usually 25-30 GB. I use a few large programs though: Photoshop, MS Office 2003, and a couple CAD programs. The only time you will notice any slowdown at all is transferring between partitions on the same physical disk (compared to drvie to drive transfers). It would be a waste of space to allocate a lot and take longer to move files around unless you have another drive available.
