I installed the Big Water kit last night and when I tried to start the computer, I get nothing on the screen. There is no system beep or anything. I have made sure the I have the power plugged into my Vid Card and everything else seems to be plugged in correctly. What could be causing this? If the processor got fried somehow, could it cause this problem? Thanks,
 
some motherboards wont boot without something plugged into the cpu fan plug on the motherboard. It then would think there is no fan. Do you have something (system fan...etc) plugged in the cpu fan header? Also double check everything again.

Also are your fans running at all, does the mb seem to start, do you get the bios screen? I know you said no screen but more info wouldnt hurt.

Yes if you overclocked it, it could ; It could also be your motherboard, or your psu now that you have a water pump and extra load running. Most likely sounds cpu related though unless you have something yakked up in the install.
 
I'd definately make sure you have something plugged into your CPU Fan head on the mobo. But please do give us more details as to how its not booting....
 
That happened to me when I installed my XP-90, just remove the motherboard battery for about 20 seconds, put it back in, and voila! It worked for me..:rolleyes:
 
Thanks for the replies guys. It doesn't even post. The power supply is an Antec TrueControl 550W, and is less the 4 months old. The power supply has a 3 pin fan sensor that I have plugged into the CPU FAN1 header. I will try plugging an actual fan into the header and see what happens.

On a side not, how tight does the water block need to be? Just tight enough to not slip around?
 
as tight as a normal heatsink. You are starting to worry me........... If the regular fan doesnt get it to start, clear the cmos to remove the OC and start over..
 
Exactly, as long as your PC starts up, just remove the battery/clear the CMOS and you should be set.
 
You said it doesn't post, but is the MB getting power? LED / beeps / fans spinning up? i would check those connectors again (especially the power on button header.)
 
The reason that I ask about the tightness thing is that it uses nuts and bolts, and I have only used the clips before. I have assembled and rebuilt several engines and I am used to important fasteners having torque specs, that is why I ask. Not to worry.

sorry, i was just messing with you. If what you say is true, then you shouldnt need to ask. a mechanic should figure out to make it snug, but dont go putting dents in the backside of your board going to 45 ft/lbs

No problem, if I were to read the question I would say the same thing. :D And after your last reply, it was kinda a dumb question. I appreciate you guys taking the time to answer them.
