Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I plan to upgrade my PC in a few months. Im looking to get a Asus A8N-E, +3200 athlon 64, and a 7600 GT. I currently have a 350w antec smartpower PSU. Will it be enough to power the new stuff or should i upgrade?
What core is that 7600gt? is it a chopped up 7900 core? If it is and it is only 12 pipes then I wouldn't even worry about upgrading. An antec 16A psu would probably be sufficient IMO.
I've been looking online and my suspicions up there ^ were correct, without reading one review before even seeing it... it's a 7800gt die-shrink to 90nm which is basically a 7900 core. I saw that a 20A 350w is the recommended and we can be sure that that's overkill... way over kill. So, I'd posit that 16A is sufficient. Although, it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace that aging psu... simply because older psu's tend to die and take out components with it. And maybe cause fires as well. Don't forget to clean your psu's out with canned air as well. I don't suggest opening the psu, though, you could kill yourself doing something like that if you aren't a trained electrician.
some manufacturers are recommending just 300 watts and 18 amps on the 12v. you should be fine with a 350 watt Antec psu unless you have less than 18 amps on the 12v. if you have dual rails then you are more than ok. the 7600gt only draws around 60-65 watts max.
