Will my processor choke a high end video card??

i have an AthlonXPm 2500+ oc'd to 2400 will this not be enough??

i am just wondering cause i should be getting a ultra or xt in about a week.

if a xt can get 13000 in 3dMark03 w/ a A64 3400+, then what will i be looking at??
 
c'mon now i know lotsa people have these processors, im looking for some numbers on either the XT or Ultra w/ the XPm
 
It prob will not choke, but it would prob be the bottleneck of your system...
 
Bump, I would like to know this also...

I have a nf7-s 2.0 with 200mhz mem and 200x12=2.4ghz xpm and a 9800 pro

Should i get an XT or is it going to be a big disappointment, someone out there must have one of these next gen cards on the same setup.

anyways, seeing that your CPU is at 2400mhz already, I'm going to say it will only choke it if you turn off ALL the eye candy.

In other words, you run Doom3 with NO AA and NO AF, then your CPU will be the limiter on how fast it goes.....

but....who wants to run with no AA? NOT ME!

If you run Doom3 with 4xAA and 8xAF, you will be limited by your videocard.

But either way, your CPU is quite decent already! I wouldnt be in a hurry to replace it.
---whats your FSB? lower your mult, raise your FSB, and that will help even more. Run your RAM at a 1:1 timing too.

For example, if you buy my card, we'll have the same ones....
My system is a Intel P4 2.8C overclocked to 3.5 with a 250FSB 1:1 ram timings.

My 3Dmark03? 13,400

yeah 4 more days till i can waste all my hard earned money at the fabulous vegas casinos :rolleyes:

haha vegas is pretty cool tho, you live in a pretty small town, but atleast there is like 2 pizza places right around the corner from your house :) thats all you need (and broadband, of course)

anyways im going to bed now i gotta work at 9 tonight :)
