Will my eheim 1250 work in this situation?

Ok, i have the 77' bonneville (sp?) core that I'm going to externally mount on the top of my case. It will face down and I'm going to drill holes to plumb tubing through the case, instead of going around.

Now, there is a distance of 17'' from the top of the case to the bottom. This distance will probably be reduced to just over a foot once the pump is there. Will the system perform well even though I intend on shooting tubing straight up from the pump to the core (appx. foot)? The eheim 1250 has a max head of 6.5 ft, and I am reasonably sure that this is sufficient, but I just wanted to confirm this before I set everything up and start cutting.

Maybe I would be better off placing the pump a bit higher up, such as in the optical drive bays? I dont like this Idea, however, because it would be difficult to set up as I am using 2 of 4 bays already. I'd rather not place the pump external either.

BTW, here is my complete setup:

d-tek white water CPU block
d-tek GPU block
eheim 1250
cylindrical res
77' bonneville heater core
2 120mm fans + shroud for core

Thanks for the input.

you wont have a problem. i have my 1250 sitting at the bottom of my full server tower case and it pumps straight into the heater core right above the powers supply... i guess 20 something inches straight up.

The 1250 is a fuckin' beast, you shouldn't have a problem at all. :)

my 1250 pumps thru my S-TDX up into my rad which looks to be a bonneville core...voyeurmods dual 120mm deal and then back into my res...no problems

the 1250 is one of the big dogs of pumps....that's like asking if a 1980's Mack truck is suitable for hauling cars...yeah it may not be the biggest and baddest...but it will do the job, and do it well :)

OH yes it is :D

omg YES!

haha j/k ;)

I have a 1250 in my tower... Can't say as though you'll have a problem. Once upon a time I ran an external unit and had over 12 feet of hose in the loop. No trouble.
