Will MLAA ever get "fixed"?

I'm still getting absolutely horrible input lag when MLAA is enabled (Try it with Halo: Combat Evolved, see what happens). Is this option ever going to become usable?

If MLAA was implemented at the driver level by the game engine, couldn't the post processing be applied on the 3D rendered image then the 2D overlay placed on the final frame?

Is the MLAA method in any way similar to Metro's AAA or Mafia 2's shader based AA? Both of those seem to AA the scene without smoothing the 2D interfaces.

MLAA worked fine with me on Borderlands.

MLAA is technically working for me as well, it's applied to the scene and looks great. The problem I'm having is that it's adding a lot of input lag.

As soon as I start up a game with MLAA enabled, the screen is at least half a second behind my input. I dare say it's almost as bad as the input lag you get when using OnLive.
