Honestly i don't care. Im sick of my weak mobo and want to upgrade to a new computer.


But i bought an HD3870 and it should be here tomorrow. I never took into account of size. Because i wasnt caring. I can easily jimmy rig something up and get a new case.


Not much room, this is a pic of the xt6800 and PSU right above it.

WILL IT FIT!?

DEAR GOD DUSTY. Yesh it should fit- the card is 9 " long, with the dual slot cooler remember (unless you go for a fan version), just TIDY up your case with ties ect ^^.

haha yea its dusty. And I will try to clean it up some with ties and what not. I just never have time to open it and do what i want.

well.. i got it today and it fits. Very tight but it works. temps are too high for me though under load.

You need some airflow in that case, it looks VERY tight in there..I just put my 3870 in yesterday and its idling at 59c and full load around 74c with fan between 50-60%.

Try adjusting the fan speed with Rivatuner. The default fan speed settings are absurdly low and will only keep the card cool if your computer is at the north pole.

That looks like a really tiny case...maybe you should just get a bigger one...some good ones are about 50 bucks and you can keep it for future upgrades too.
