Hey - I just ordered a MSI GeForce 6600GT from ZipZoomFly.com. I'm a little concerned about whether or not it will work well with my Sparkle/FSP 300W (FSP300-60ATV).

Currently my machine has 2 Lite-On optical drives, 2 7200RPM hard drives, GeForce4 Ti4200 64MB, Athlon XP 2500+ on an Abit NF7, 512MB RAM (2 256 sticks), 6 casefans, a hard drive dual fan cooler, SB Audigy2 ZS, WinTV PVR150 TV card, Wi-Fi PCI card, dual cold cathode lights, (and I believe that's about all!)

The machine works great right now. Do you think that my machine will need a new PSU? Thanks
 
With just an NF7 and a Barton, you'll be fine.

Just please God don't upgrade your board to an A64 or P4 without changing out the PSU first, though. ;)
 
Yes you have a lot of stuff to power.
If you have any stability or weird issues please buy a new power supply.
 
I agree, you have a lot of stuff to power. I had essentially the same setup you're describing and it was too much for my 300W PSU. I started to see a few artifacts here and there and even had an occasional boot problem before upgrading to a 350W. I too would suggest that if you start having problems, don't delay and get yourself a new PSU. This will also potentially keep you from spending too much time troubleshooting any issues that would otherwise be corrected with better power.
 
I started out with a 350 watt.. didnt have any problems but system didnt seem tight. Moved up to a 500watt huge difference. Was very happy I did so. I highly suggest you move up to a 500watt ps.
