will hd202s benefit from an amp

Yes, to me my freind's HD 202s sounded better when hooked into my CMoy amp. Cleaned the bass up and balanced everything out. This is just what he and I heard though.
 
OK sounds good I got these over the the hd201s cause of better bass but was thinking about getting an amp for them.
 
yeah my HD202's sounds much better running through my Technics SA-350 receiver as opposed to just running straight out of the computer. The 202's have an incredibly full and rich sound with awesome bass...and the amp really smooths all of that out.
 
why would you wanna pay 60 bucks for an amp when you can grab an HD485 that sounds WAY better than the HD202 amped! The only way I see an amp would benefit most is with higher end headphones.... and trust me... the HD485 is a huge step above the HD202... I owned both.. but now onl have the HD485's

If he pays for an amp now, it will last a few can upgrades, depending if he is ever hit with the upgraditis bug. I don't know if an unamped HD485 would sound WAY better than an amped HD202...
 
I was thinking of contacting MisterX to build me one that is if I decide to get an amp.
