Will better drivers fix crossfire?

How long will it take to get em? I'm hoping so, but this is my first Ati card so I don't really have any experience with them, and especially not with crossfire. It's a bit of a bummer that I get the exact same FPS in games like WiC and Bioshock with one card as I do with two.
 
Bioshock can be maxxed out with an 8800GT thats why you see no improvements with crossfire. And WiC is very very CPU bottlenecked. Also, what size monitor are you playing on?

I don't agree with your comments on Bioshock. Even if you can max it on an 8800GT that doesn't change the fact that a more powerful card should result in better frame rates, unless it's CPU bottlenecked, which it isn't. And from what I've seen an 8800GT you're looking at like 45 FPS, not exactly at the level where people start to not care about FPS. If it was hitting a wall at 100 or 120 FPS I wouldn't care, but 55-60 FPS? Come on.

comments on WiC are not necessarily accuarate either. it is cpu intensive and limiting however, at high resolutions a dual gpu solution will make a large difference when the drivers are working.

to the OP, my experience with crossfire so far has been rocky at best. it just doesn't work with much out there right now. there have been websites that have gotten to work with various beta/press drivers, so logic tells us that we should see positive results with new drivers in the very near future.

the only thing that has taken a bit of wind out of my sails is that catalyst 8.7 beta drivers have been leaked, and for me they made no difference in regards to crossfire. all we can do is hope that the official release has a more positive result, and it certainly may.
