Will ballistix be good again?

I know they have been having issues with their single sided chips.

I have a pair of the old good ballistix, and was hoping to eventually buy another pair similar pair of them. So I was wondering if it is just a bad batch crucial had and if they intend to go back to their old ballistix or if the sticks they are selling now here to stay?
 
All indications at this point are that the new single-sided revision is here to stay. I have spoken to multiple people at Crucial's customer service dept. regarding this and they have confirmed that the double-sided revision is "END OF LIFE". Feels like a bloody bait-and-switch to me man. I got them to send me a set of double-siders as replacement for a kit that died after a TON of bitching. So there are still kits out there. But not many so good luck!
