I have a 550w Truepower 2.0 which I just cleaned all the dust out of and I noticed 2 of the smaller caps are bulging and one of them is leaking. Will antec replace this power supply for this problem if the psu is still working fine? Also I don't have the invoice anymore but I bought the psu on newegg and they keep all your orders on line can I print out that order online to send in with the psu for warranty service?

If antec won't replace it I have no problem recaping the psu myself, I would just rather send it in for the warranty.

Edit: If I recap it myself can any of you suggest a brand and a place to buy the new caps.

I would definitely ask for an RMA. From what I heard Antec is really cool about replacing their stuff.

Just take a picture and that should do it. You should've have to replace something like that yourself.

You wouldn't possibly know what replacement I would get? They don't make my model anymore, and I assume they wouldn't recap my psu because it wouldn't be worth their time.

If you were to get a replacement, and if it weren't currently in production, it would be somewhere along the same performance level.

I'm guessing you'd most likely get a Truepower Trio 550 watter, or perhaps a 550 watt Neo model. Either is a good unit.

Most likely, though, they'd probably do the repairs on your current unit.

Regardless, Antec needs to replace the PSU. If the caps are leaking, it is clearly faulty. Their name is on it.

Provided you're within warranty specs, it's their obligation to replace a faulty product (like yours). Fear not the RMA. :p

I RMA'd my TPII 550 a few weeks ago for the same thing. Although my computer wouldn't turn back on after it was shut off without flipping the power switch on my PSU, I did notice the leaky caps as well. RMA is all done online and rather easy. You just have to box it up and pay for shipping when they give you a RMA number. My replacement was just mailed out but I am guessing it is a TP trio.
