Will an 80mm fan work here?

If you read my last thread about possibly using 60mm fans for the exhaust of my case, and people saying try 80's since 60's are louder...you'd have an idea of what I'm trying to do. If not, here it is in short: I'm using an older desktop ATX case, can't change that out, I have an 80mm intake fan and a grill in the back which isn't made for a fan but would work, I think. I was looking about using 60mm fans but it seemed like to get enough air pushed out, they would have to be awfully fast, which would mean loud. So I took an 80mm fan and put it up on the back of the case to see if it would fit...the pic below is my results.

It's just in there temporarily; no I will not really be mounting it with toothpicks. It will be a different motherboard in the comp so I'm basically just working on the case right now. That's an 80mm fan with the bottom lining up with the bottom of the grill, the top falls about 1/3" below the top of the case. The grill area is wide enough that I could put two 80mm fans side-by-side. Do you think they would work well here? And would I need/want two of them for more exhaust cooling?

I think that if you are going with two exhaust fans, then 60mm would be fine. I only have a single 80mm plus a power supply fan exhausting air out the back and it's fine, I'm sure two 60mm, even at 7v to keep noise down would be fine. If your psu is a dual fan type, then you're even better off.

If you want to go with an 80mm though, what I'd do is bend the metal out on the side of the motherboard so it's that the fan can sit flush up against the piece of metal that's further out. I'm not sure if you get what I'm saying with that, if so, I can try explaining it more in depth.

Bend the dashed portion of the grill to be even with the dotted part? I hadn't thought of that, as I figured I'd just be able to mount it to the grill as it is.

The psu is a dual fan one, but I don't know how much that helps. My desk area is pretty cramped, and there isn't much room behind the comp and the wall...I want to make sure the case stays cool. Do you think 2 80mm fans would do more than one? Or would it not be noticable?

I meant bend the dotted part, so that there aren't any gaps that allow air to flow back into the case, all of it goes out.

I personally think a single 80mm is probably sufficient, but you can always put in two just in case and turn one of them off, or 7v the both of them if their full power is not necesary.
