Will a new heatsinc really help me?

Well I have a no name brand heatsinc, its called a pc cooler copper fin heatsinc. its something like this one

http://www.a1-electronics.net/Heatsinks/2005/4th/PrimeCooler_HC5+CU_June.shtml

Anyway, I use to have a athlon 64 3000+ venice that ran at 30c idle and about 45-50c load(dont know exact load temp) with 1.55v

Now I have a dual core opty 165 thats at 2.91ghz with 1.5v and it runs 38c idle and 60c load!!!

and my overclock is not fully stable because of the 60c temp. I heard with this stepping "CCBBE 0610DPMW" even with more vcore it wont get the cpu stable if the temps are high, it will infact cause less stability with more voltage if your cooling isent good enough so that seems to be my issue.

The big question is will a new heatsinc, (iam thinking the thermaltake big typhoon) will that really help enough because my room is warm because iam in south florida, and I have a router, modem, voip, and a computer thats a heater, my room is normally I think 80F and thats pritty warm, I think new air cooling would just blow that air onto my cpu and not cool it very well. I kinda think watercooling is the only thing that can help because of my warm room. But I dont really want to spend $200 for water. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks..

According to this chart ,

I would go with Tuniq Tower 120 (if your not scared of the weight, plus for it to be effective you need a really good fan, like a papst), Arctic Freezer 64 Pro or the Silverstone NT02.

That's what I based my decision on and concluded that the best price to performance ratio is by far the Arctic Freezer 64 Pro, which you can get for 25$ at newegg with free 3 day shipping.

I've gotta mention the ninja here...as you can see on the chart it also has some of the best cooling, but the ability to undervolt your fan for pure silence and lose only 1-2C is great. Also, it's something like $34 on newegg.

BTW, I wouldn't consider the XP90 anymore. If you'd really like that kind of cooling performance, just ebay one of the newer quad heatpipe stock HSFs that come with the 4200s and dual core Opterons.

hmm, I thought the TT BT was the best. if theirs something thats just as good but cheaper I'll take it. Iam not sure which one to pick

you should get the ninja because it is a better cooler.
the BT isn't bad, but the ninja will outperform it easy.

ok, I've been using ceramique, and my tube is running low, should I get AS 5 or stick with what i've been using?

If you've got ceramique then save some cash and use it. Ceramique and AS5 do about as close as makes-no-difference in terms of cooling performance.

HOLY CRAP

that was hard to mount. my fingers are all cut up from the thing, it took me well over and hour. iam about iam about 4c-5c lower then i was before idle, and about 9c lower then before load. so now my temps are 34c idle, 52c in dual priming. before i was 38c idle, 62c load.

lol, think thing is touching my 80mm window case fan, and i had to clear my hard drive wires out of the way to fit the 120mm fan on the side of the heatsink

lol...i still don't understand where everyone has so many issues with installing the ninja!

the hardest part for me was getting my stock plate off because it has some strange plastic clips that would be easy to take off if I had 2x the hands.

Yeah its fairly easy. Pretty much the same as installing an xp-120/xp-90 etc...

I did have to put quite a bit of force on mine to get it to clamp down. Other than that, pretty easy. I didnt take the stock backplate off on mine. Honestly I dont think you need to. My stock backplate will do fine. :p
