Will a Eheim water pump work sideways?

Well I am building a new WC setup and I can get a better configuration if a Eheim water pump work sideways?

So...will it?

When I say sideways I mean suck in through the side, and instead of blow out top, blow out the side like the pump is layed over.
 
Yes it will, just be careful about pressure on the barbs, because you may get a little leakage if there is to much force.
 
Ok thanks...there should not be any pressure on the barbs, so I should be fine.
