Will my FX 5200 (128 bit, 128 MB) be enough to provide a full experience for Neverwinter Nights? A possible upgrade option is to go with the Gigabyte 9600 Pro 128 MB for $105 at newegg. It is fanless- I value quiet.

I have 1 Ghz Athlon, 512 MB RAM, Samsung 710t- so I would play at 1280 x 1024- native mode for the LCD- otherwise things look a bit skewed.

I just played Dungeon Seige and I think there was some choppiness in large battles.

neverwinter nights ran just fine on my old 2.4 / geforce 4200... i don't think you'll have any problems with that card or that resolution. it's just not a power-hungry game.

5200 AGP will likely be enough for NWN.

If you have money to upgrade, go for a 6600. If you haven't bought the 5200 yet, get the above linked 6200.

It depends on your expections. Playing NWN at that resolution will tax an FX 5200. It will run it as long as you don't mind it being fairly choppy. If you demand smoothness, it's time to upgrade your graphics card.

Thanks everybody- this info and the thread comparing the Ti 4400 to the FX 5200 tell me what I need.
