On Gamefaqs there was an ad to a game called MojoMaster I wanted to play. But you have to have wildtangent to play it, which is spyware.

Do you think I can play the game if I just get wildtangent then run Ad Aware Safe Scan? I'm not sure if Wildtangent or other spyware reproduces spyware on the computer

I looked up Spyware in wikipedia and it doesn't say
 
Honestly, I don't think so. Not even 2 weeks ago, I spent an hour and a half dealing with a WildTangent infected system and it definitely gets deep into some registry files.

I certainly wouldn't exert the effort.

From past history Wildtangent is a pain to get rid of, I would stay away from it as far as I could if I were you. ;)
 
Just another vote for "Don't do it". There was a Wild Tangent thing on the driver CD for my last vid card and like a fool, I installed it... Took forever to get rid of.
 
Had a friend who tried that game, he said it sucked pretty badly. I even stopped using the official AIM clients because it installs WildTangent for their games (along with BDE Projector for their advertisement movies)... and yes, its a pain in the ass sometimes to remove. WT is sometimes about as hard to remove as Gator/Gain.

Yet another vote for FUCK WILDTANGENT !!!
 
Isnt Wildtangent the baby of the former project manager of Direct X? That Alex St. John d00d>?

I believe it is, not sure though. I remember trying it about 3 or more years ago, and it seemed alright to me. Don't know what it has turned into since then, but at one time it was pretty respectable. I know there were a lot of big names that were using the technology. DaimlerChrysler had a couple games I remember playing.
 
I've played that mojo master game, sadly. First off, it's the most horrible marketing ploy i've ever seen, as axe products will help your chances of getting with a girl , BUT only if you use the shampoo, conditioner, body spray, deodorant, toothpaste etc... The game itself is rather crappy, though a little interesting in how things are played. It's just another dating sim game, except you have to date over 100 girls, which can only be acheived by smelling good apparently. :rolleyes:
 
I'm wondering in general if spyware reproduces more spyware in your system like a generator. IF that's not true, I could download a program with spyware, run ad aware, and it would probably be ok. But the program might not work

But it's probably better not to get programs with spyware in the first place

The girls didn't even look that attractive
 
Personally, i've got the main contenders in the anti-spyware fight, like spybot, adaware, spyware blaster, and few small ones that most spyware prolly doesn't dare to wander around the hd too much. :p
It really depends on the spyware though. I'm sure this stuff just gathers useless information like sites visited and what not. If it were malicious spyware, like a keylogger or something, then I'd assume it would start proliferating the hard drive.
