For all those seeking a Wii tonight @ midnight, word of warning , lines are already starting to form at my local Walmart in the lay away dept. The lady working there said that she's heard there are lines at 4 other walmarts in the area that started forming early this morning. . Not sure what the situation is at other other retailers. Just a heads up on what I saw and heard at my wal-mart.
 
Around here I've called a Target, TRU, and a BB.... None are doing a midnight launch or forming lines. I think I'll have no problem walking in and buying one. Especially when they have over 300 among them. :)
 
i'm gonna show up at about 11PM at one of my local walmarts...

i' not gonna try very hard...

I have other obligations like studying...
 
In my area walmart is the only one doing a midnight launch. I'll more than likely just go to the Toys R Us where their getting 90 units in.

just remember though.. 90 units won't be for sale.. they have to fill their pre orders too...

Anyone know when the second shipment of wii's is supposed to arrive at places??? one week? two weeks?

I just called up the Toys R Us that I was gonna go to tonight, and they said all of the units they are getting are all already preordered.


Also, I asked a guy at the EB games near me last week when they thought they were going to get a second shipment of Wiis and he said about a week after launch.

I heard it was 11/20.
 
Well my friend went to Walmart got number 29 in line and there only getting 28 units. But he said Walmart only got half of the shipment and the other half still may show tonight. This is the Walmart at Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana. Anyone have any Walmart stories?
 
Some lady told me that they would only be getting 20 and that there were more than 20 people in line. (This was over the phone.)

My mom just got back from there and there was no one lined up at the lay-away and none at electronics.

I hope it stays that way.
 
if it is hard to get a wii this holiday season, then nintendo did very well.

yeah, theres people lined up at my local walmart too (went to get some groceries). I'll try a different one at around 10, if that one has a line then screw it. I think it might be because our local news ran a peice on the wii last night and probably sparked peoples intrest now that theres no more PS3's for a while.

If you get in between me and my Wii there is going to be problems... :D

You have target, ToysRus right next to each other, then you have the walmarts. I don't think I am being too optimistic by thinking I will be able to grab the three I need.

There were about people in line already at the Walmart on creighton, for some reason they had them in the Garden section...bunch of 10-12 year olds too.

If it gets too weird stop by the shop, one of our distys is getting them on the 22nd, and I'll just order them then, i'll give you free ship and they are a little cheaper than retail (like $243 or something).
 
WEll.. i'm about to head out for some dinner.. then i'm gonna go queue up after that

Dude, I just called WM 15 minutes ago and they said the same thing to me! Thing is, I was in front of the WM a bit over an hour ago, and I didn't see anybody standing outside in a line. They told me they had 20 units.

I'll probably go check the WM physically at around 11PM, and if I see a line, I'll just head over to Target in the morning (two stores here are getting 50 Wiis each).
 
I don't know what the secret is with Walmart. It's like they are hiding something.
 
Jesus! Wal mart just told me not to even bother, they said theirs a line bigger than the amount their getting.

Called every wal-mart in the area, whats wierd is that they have all told me the same story, "we're getting 20 and thiers 30 in line".

Kinda wierd.
 
damn, outlook is starting to look bleak.
there are more people camping out, over here now, than when ps3 came out.
i keep getting different numbers everytime i call the walmart over here. this morning the lady said 23 units, now some guy that answered said 19... ???

i wonder.... what happened to the numbers? no store around here has more than 20 units. even the big Toys 'r Us thats doing the midnight launch....

Ya WTF? Wii seeker hasnt been anywhere near accurate as far as im concerned. So with Wal-mart out of the question, and Toys R Us sold out from pre-orders, whats the best bet?

Im calling target to find out if theres any campers.

Edit : Ok no campers at Target so far, the girl told me that the shipment hasnt arrived yet but they expect it to arrive shortly. Hmmmm... 9:00 PM on Saturday and they shipments not there yet, but they expect it still? Im calling bullshit and say they already have it. They open @ 8:00 am tomorrow but something tells me there will be a line when i get there...
 
My local target is getting 70 in, more then walmart which is getting only 53. Very weird, thought walmart was bigger.
 
I'm about to go swing by various wal-marts, gonna try the out of the way ones 1st. Also is wal-mart the only store thats open 24hours these days?

seriously though.... I did not expect this. looks like the people at wal mart are clueless or something. this is not making sense. i recommend going out at 10pm instead of 11.

there will be sell outs. damnit.
 
Its just wierd that every story is the exact same thing, 20 units, 30 in line. Target said they hadnt seen the first camper..

The only thing I can think of is so theres no "scene at midnight". All the bad press with the PS3 prolly isnt helping matters either. Although Im not sure though , BB just told me that there was a line of 50+ campers tents and all waiting for the wii.
 
Man , im not sure. All Targets in my area are saying they've not seen the first camper. Really wierd thats for sure. I would have never guessed there would be this much demand for the Wii.
 
Oh well. I'm gonna try my luck.

Hopefully, I'll respond to this thread with a Wii in-hand. ;)
