Can this thing be hacked to use on a computer? I would love to use the Wiimote and sensor bar on my system. I would assume that this device could be adapted to usb and would just need a driver.

You'd be surprised what people will spend their time doing.Erasmus354 said:Do you happen to be adept at writing drivers? I highly doubt anyone will ever go through the trouble of making this work on a computer.
The sensor bar produces two IR sources. The Wiimote uses the two IR sources to triangulate where it is. Combine this with the two accelerometers to detect movement, and you've got the Wii magic... or something like that.xerus` said:You only have to make the remote work for a computer. The sensor bar doesnt sense anything, the controller does. The bar just beams out infared light while the remote detects where that is and then maps the pointer on the screen based off that info... or something.

edit: here's the link i was looking for.. watch and learn..

not if the system is only designed to look at a certain number. you could get a high powered ir led or laser and fuck with someone playing the wii. it would only mess with them when they were using the wii for pointing though, like menu's or fpsn1ce_hat said:Technically, couldn't you create a bigger sensor bar with many, many more LED's to get a better signal? Maybe someone should DIY themself a super-sensor bar![]()
