Wii Sensor Bar Height

so I've got a 42' tv that I'm playing my new wii on and I put the sensor bar on the top of it but the tv on the stand is only about 4.5' tall so when I stand in front of it playing smooth moves the sensor bar is at about chest level. The problem is when I do things like the squat with the wiimote on my head it doesn't register and when I aim at things it feels a little off. In the wii settings it asked if the bar was on top of or below the tv and it's set to on top.
So should I move it to the bottom or do you guys have any recommendations?

Do you often squat in front of the tv with the wiimote on your head?!

Do you have the sensor bar recessed a little bit? If so, maybe you can bring it up to the edge of the top, so that it can peek over the corner a little.

yes i do frequently squat in front of the tv with or without the wiimote:p

It is peeking over the edge but i think it's not high enough

The squating mini game in Wario Ware is motion based.
I.E. you do not need to be pointing at the screen/sensor bar.

Try it out. Play the game and try it backwards.

Same thing with bowling in Wii Sports.
I can throw strikes all day, standing in the next room, no where near the TV.

Sounds like your batteries are going out or your Wiimote has some malfunction, or some odd bluetooth interference.

with the sensitivity, there's only two lights on all the settings but only on the lowest setting do they appear to be blinking. Is that the one I want?

The sensitivity setting determines at what intensity Infrared lights are visible. Obviously, the 'sensor' bar emits quit bright infrared, so it can potentially over power other IR sources.

The goal for your sensitivity settings is to only see the two pulsing lights of the sensor bar.

All of that out of the way, try the sensor bar at the base of the TV, and couple it with the clear plastic stand packed with the Wii. That should help angle the lights a little better for a more extreme angle you are likely to find with larger TVs. Obviously, be sure to switch the location settings.
