This article states that Sony is closing the gap between the PS3 and the Wii from 6 to 1 in June to a 2 to 1 ratio this month. Compared to six months ago, PS3 sales are up from 42,000 to 47,000. In the same time frame, Wii sales dropped from 270,000 down to 110,000.
For four consecutive months, the PlayStation 3 has been catching up with the Nintendo Wii in Japan, according to game magazine publisher Enterbrain. While the Wii still outsold the PS3 2-to-1 in October (110,415 vs. 47,183), monthly sales of PS3 units continue to rise notably, up from a 6-to-1 ratio in Japan in June.
