Anyone else out there having issues with their Wii consoles?

I got my Wii at launch, and just before it turned one year old, I noticed what is best described as vertical lines of sparkles all over the image during gameplay.

I sent the Wii to the mothership in NJ, where they said that they replaced the PCB. The Wii I got back had a different serial number, but it did have my saves and Miis, so I was relatively happy (though I did get a new Friend Code, which meant that all my friends had to update the code on their consoles before they could send mail to me...this is a big annoyance for me).

Now, Wii number 2 is doing the same thing. During gameplay there are vertical bands of sparkles all over the screen. Not only is it distracting, but it interrupts gameplay.

I called the big N, and got a RO.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Since Wii1 and Wii2 I have changed televisions, entertainment centers and cables.

Have a good day!

You know, i've had graphical issues as well, but not as you've described them. I've seen this problem in Guitar Hero 3 primarily. I either get textures that turn on and off and sometimes problems with model animation, to name two i can think of off the top of my head. This is a new Wii (november 07) with light use with adequate ventilation.

I had some graphical artifacting after a few months with my launch unit.

Sent it back to the big N and the new one has been working fine... ;)

Same here.

Launch unit got the artifacting. Sent to NOA, got a "new" one back and it's been perfect ever since.
