No sense in waiting around I guess I had better get started on this case. This is a case from my wife's office. Can't remember where I got it from or who makes it but it seems like a good candidate for a new look.

the motherboard and proc are toasted so I have to get new ones. Not sure about the plastic parts was considering throwing them away but reconsidered putting lights under them.

hehe man I remember those cases. A shop I use to work at sold those things. I can't remember who made them to save my life, but I want to say it was about a $23 case. That is shipped and with a lame 250 or 300 watt psu. Have fun with it.

Sorry no pics camera needs new mem stick. Got the paint stripped off and bought my paint supplies. It's been awhile since I bought paint and it seems the choice of selection of spray on enamels is not what it used to be. Where do you guys get your paint do you order on line or is there a store you like to use? Please let me know. Thanks.

Ok I got the camera fixed. Stripped the panels and top of case. The panels had those formed handles which I hate so I decided to cut them out and beat them flat. I plan on putting the cut out pieces back in and bondo them. I don't have a welder so I plan on using glue for the back supports. Since it's just going to be a patch I'm not to worried about them falling off.

God, please tell me your cutting off that front intake grill?
I don't know yet. It's going to be covered up as far as my plans are right now so no need to whack it off but things might change as I go along. I never make any all the way through plans I just get a idea of what I want and see what happens. It might come off or it might not we'll see.

Generally it is a good idea to remove restrictive fan grills like that, you get better airflow, and usually, reduced noise.

Well as you can see the holes I cut in my panels patched nicely a few more hours of sanding and they'll be smooth as a babes ass. I've decided to base the design on my Xterra which is blue or as the factory calls it just blue. So since the most prominent feature of the Xterra is the X thats going to be my window design. I made the template but I am not sure of the size the wife said she likes it the way it is and not to change it. If I make it bigger it would get into the part of the panel I patched. So far I've stripped the paint and cut some holes and patched them. I only have an hour or so every night to work on this and it's taking longer than I thought. Got to find a way to speed things up.

Got some good quality work time. One panel painted one to go. The second panel will take a bit more time since I'll be doing some lettering under the X. I found some really cool looking LEDs for the top of the case

They're windshield washer sprayers with LEDs built in. I got them for my X but I decided they would look better on the case. I'm for going blowing a hole in the top of the case. this is not going to be a high end gaming rig just an office computer so cooling will not be a factgor in this mod.

Just an update nearly finshed with the case, paintings all done, hardware installed need to cover the X with some glass and put in the switches still waiting for a dvd drive but may have to shelve that for awhile. Will have pics soon.
