Wife wants a laptop..... Recommendations?

Hi all, I've never owned a laptop and know very little about brands, features, reliability, etc. But I have learned that my wife wants one.

So, she would use it for Skype (need a camera/mic), surfing, movies (Netflix, HBO, on Demand), etc. Nothing too demanding. It would be on my wireless network in a big house, so a solid wireless card is preferred.

Thoughts?
 
Thanks, she does have a tablet, but wants more functionality, larger screen etc.
 
My Asus N61JQ-A1 laptop that I'm selling... :D ...YOU KNOW YOU WANNA :p
Seriously is a great laptop though.
 
How about something like an Asus ZENBOOK? It's a very light machine, similar to a MacBook Air that you might have seen before. Trust me, you don't want your wife to carry a heavy laptop around the house all day every day. Doesn't make 'em happy ;)
 
I'd say spring for a MBA since it's for your wife. They have good resale value, too, so there's that.
 
I got my wife a Lenovo B570, 15" screen, i3 cpu, 4gb of ram, 320gb hard drive, had a webcam. Very good on battery life and was like $299.
