ATI Tool is reporting that I have a R350 core on my 9800 Pro. However, the RAM chips are in an L-shape, which is a characteristic of the R360 core. Which is it?

Where do you go in ATI Tools, to get that information? Ive been looking myself to find that info and cant find it.
 
ati tool could just be reading that info from your driver.

Best way to tell is remove the heatsink and look on the core itll be labeled
 
just look on the core of the card, tells u all u need to kno, its likely a R350
 
tho bios will determine what core it displays, and R350's do have L shaped mem (except for SE)
 
A r360 core that is marked as a 9800pro will have a 9800pro bios, meaning once again the old reliable way to tell is to look at the core.

If its a Built by ATI card the color of pins holding down the heatsink will also tell you. I beleive black is R360 gold is R350, could be vice versa its been awhile. But any of the dozens of 9800 pros I purchased last year for myself or clients, were R360 cores. Flashed all of them except one sucessfully to 9800xt's, the last one would flash ok, but memory wouldnt run at proper speed.
 
umm dood? my 9800pro aiw mem chips are L shaped, and its r350 core (ive looked at the core many times)
