I have a netgear wgt624 (Super G - 108 mbps) router. My roommaters and I have on it a desktop using a Netgear WGN311T and several laptops using internal network cards. My desktop has a 64-bit installation of XP. I had installed a WGN311t but couldnt get any drivers to work. I bought a D-LINK WDA-2320 adapter, which uses the same Atheros Super G chipset, and installed it using XP 64 drivers I was able to get this working about two months ago up until this weekend. Basic, standard setup: automatically assigned DHCP and IP, WPA-PSK encryption. The connection provided sustained downloads of about 400 - 600k/s.

On Saturday, I unplugged and moved router. It was unplugged for about two hours and got plugged back into the same outlet. The connection was made perfectly fine upon rebooting. However, the internet signal is unbelievably slow. That is, XP says the system is connected like it would have been in the past, but the internet is very slow.

I conducted a couple of bandwidth tests today. My laptop achieved a rate of 500 kb/s about 10 feet from the router. My desktop, about 30 feet and two walls from the router, got 52.6 kb/s. My laptop, on my lap at my desk where my desktop sits, got 400 kb/s. I am at a loss with what what to do. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you.
