I have been getting very strange errors in sourec based games. I have reinstalled twice, I really don't want to do it again because it takes at least an hour for the games to upload. It's very annoying especially in CS:S.

Ive had the same issue w/ my old rig and the CS:S stress test. The spinning squares at the beginning were 'error' instead. Ill try it w/ my new rig and see if it still does it, but I found w/ my old rig that any nvidia driver after 66.93 did this for me.

OK: just tested it w/ my current rig and it doesn't do this anymore. I had a Gigabyte 6600GT, AMD Athlon XP 2400, and 1.25 gig PC2100 RAM. Im still guessing it was a driver issue w/ the vid card.

That's what I'm thinking. If anything, it's probably a driver issue.
 
the only time i get that is when i run the sound test. thats the only time i've ever seen it.
 
How should I go about Fixing it. I have the 81.98's. Should I install newer ones?
 
He's missing models and/or they are corrupted. If he was missing textures, it'd show up as pink and black checker squares. Just re-validate your Steam caches...
