wierd screen dimming on front page

just started today. when I scroll down on the front page my *entire* screen dims. At first I thought something was wrong with my monitor but then I noticed the screen would brighten back up when I scrolled to the top of the page. A couple spots further down the page it will brighten back up but dim if i keep scrolling down. it doesn't happen on any other website including hardforum.

have no idea what would cause something like this. a setting in my computer? something going on with an ad on the front page?

I took a video of it although it is much more noticeable in person. It is most noticeable near the end of the video when i am showing the bottom of the screen.

edit: it happens in both firefox and internet explorer

ok, maybe it's my computer. it does do it on hardforum too - when I scroll to the very bottom of a thread and most of the blackground is black instead of gray.

ok, it was my monitor.. somehow dynamic contrast got turned on.
