My core 2 duo system parts turned up the other day:

asus P5B-E
E6400 cpu
2gb of geil ram
a video card, couple of hard drives etc...
P150 case with antec neo he 430w

anyway, to the point, as far as i can tell everything is hooked in correctly (i have succesfully bout about 10 machines over my lifetime), the 4pin, 12v power is plugged in (double checked), the 24 pin main mobo power connector is in, all components are installed correctly.

When i plug it in and switch on the back switch a nice green light comes on on the mobo, however when i press the power switch nothing happens (no fans spin etc) (if i listen very carefully i can hear the power supply make a very slight noise). I made sure power switch wasn't the problem by shorting hte two pins temporarily with a screw driver, no luck.

Any other suggestions as to what has gone wrong? (I suspect a dead psu personally)

There have been some compatibility issues between Asus motherboards and the power supply used in the P150. I thought these problems had been resolved, however. How old is the power supply?

There's a big thread about the P150 and the PS problems over at SPCR. I personally have a P150 and the Antec PS and never had a problem. Then again, my motherboard is not an Asus. (It's an AsRock Dual VSTA).
