When i turn on mycomputer sonetimes i get a loud noise. it almost sounds like there is something in there against the fan. i know its not any of my other fans because i unpluged them one at a time then all of them and the only one was running was the power supply. right now it is making a humming noise. the humming will go for a constant pace then seems like its goes faster then it slows down. i have a 350 Watt ernermax power Supply. it is only about 2 years old. mabey 1 1/2. any idea whats causing the noise?

Dust in the fan bearings. Try canned air or if you're real careful a couple of small shots of wd40 directly into the fan bearings.

bad fan. i'd suggest swapping it out for a new one. i've done it a few times, it's pretty easy, remove some screws and maybe splice a couple of wires. but be careful though, you are playing with a powersupply, so no poking at capacitors with a screwdriver.

hmmm... im going to try the air first and if that doesnt make it stop ill try the fan.

Could be dust in fan, or your ball bearings/brushless fans could be giving out.

either the bearings are dieing, or theirs dust that has built up on the fan blades. Can air is the best option. Or take the PS out open it up and see if you need to change the fans.

i tried cleaning it with air and it still makes the noise. im going to try a fan switch. should i just buy a new PowerSupply?

but with the canned air it is like wet. isnt it.
Tetrafluoroethane isn't conductive—and it all boils off REAL FAST at room temp anyway.

As for the fan, why not just contact Enermax customer support about it? IIRC, they cross-shops.
