wierd network printer problem

When installing a laserjet 4050N on a machine running XP home, after you type in the IP for the printer and click next in the wizzard, explorer crashes. I click on the details for the error report and it saya something about msvcrt.dll other computers on the network dont have any problems with the printer

any ideas?

I think that file has todo with the VB runtimes I can't really remeber right now, try updateing the VB runtimes.

put in XP cd and in run type "sfc /scannow", this will scan your system for corrupt system files (.dll's) maybe that will help.
