Hey Guys,

For some reason my machine was largely unstable over the past few days, when I returned from the LAN i was attending, I would no longer boot.

It gets to the

"We apologise etc etc

Safe Mode
Safe Mode w/net
Safe Mode w/cmd
Last Known Good
Start Windows Normally"

menu, no matter what selection I choose, as soon as I do, the timer stops and it doesn't go anywhere.

A few days before the LAN when the problems started, I changed my XPBoot Screen, now I read somewhere that the file with the bootscreen contains some kernal process aswell, so I was sure to get the one with SP1 on, and used it however i think that may be the cause of the problem, but, unfortunately after even replacing the old ntsokrnl.exe (something like that) from another XP/SP1 machine it still has the "new" bootscreen I placed.

Any ideas? :(

(Btw, my CS team won the LAN, and I won the Q3 1v1 :D)

What I'd do... this is only advice, don't blame me if the whole thing goes up in smoke.

First thing... backup.
Put your hard drive in another PC and copy your important data.
Next... double check to make sure you have everything you might need.... address books, email profiles, passwords, save games etc.

Put the hard drive back in your machine, format and reinstall.

Even if you could get it to work without a reinstall, in my experience they are never the same after major intabilities like these.

Maybe when you were moving the computer, something got loose. A stick of RAM, AGP card could of came loose, but not enough for it not to boot, make sure HS is on securely. Make sure you have to back up. Also maybe something in your PSU is giving out from the moving of your computer.
