Im not up to date on my LCD info i guess. Whats a good widescreen LCD nowadays and for the best price? Im thinking around 300-320$, maybe a 19 or 20". Any ideas or info?

I havent seen many 19" inch wide screen but i dont thing your going to get one for the prices your thinkin a good widescreen LCD is in the 430-550 range.

Viewsonic va1912wb is $300 and is a good screen for that money, but you didn't specify the intended use.

i have the scepter 20.1" widescreen and it goes for about $379 at costco, its really nice

Well i mean, i can scan the FS/FT forums and ebay. Im seeing 2005FPW's going for 375ish so i can stretch it a bit.

I do play games, maybe a few hours of BF2 per day, i do allot of photoshop too so ill enjoy the real estate.

Not to push you away from WS, but BF2 does not (and probably never will) support proper WS resolutions. You can set the resolution to 1680x1050 (for example), but you cannot manually set the FOV, so the image will be stretched to fill the screen. But, if you have a nvidia gfx (or if you get the Dell 2005FPW) you can manually change the aspect ratio to play in a 5:4 resolution that will display correctly, but will be interpolated.

Having just bought one of these yesterday, I have no complaints thus far about it's performance.

I love my 2005fpw. Only downside is not everything supports widescreen but i just play them with black bars on the sides. The extra real estate makes a huge difference though. I feel very limited by normal monitors now.

Does it have DVI?

It has both D-SUB and DVI-D connectors (and comes with cables for both)

I can't say anything about the built-in speakers for it, however, as I haven't tried them yet.

i recently picked this westy 19" widescreen up. i was pretty much debating between this or the viewsonic, but the specs are nearly identical. my local costco was out of the viewsonics so i headed over to best buy to check this one out. anyways, its a great monitor. picture quality is somewhat average with the stock settings and with an analog connection, but tweak the settings a little, use dvi, and it shines for a $300 monitor.

I dont like that res though...

Does the 2005fpw have bad ghosting? And is the bleeding REALLY a problem in them?

Dell 20.5" 2005FPW "Widescreen" LCD Monitor, $340 at Dell website.
I don't have one but tons of 2005FPW owners here say it's best 20.5-inch Widescreen LCD on market.
Good luck.

yeah, cheapest i saw was 430..where u getting 340 from??? maybe u swtiched around some numbers :p
btw, this benq looks good if ur willing to spend the extra cash

I saw one of those in person today at BB, and wasn't impressed. BTW, in-store they advertise it with a 16ms response time, not 8.
